It is with great sadness that we, the family of Francis Pasquale Donato, announce the passing of our beloved “Snooshie” on Sunday, July 16th, surrounded by his loving family, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Frank was born in Sydney Mines on November 22nd 1956. He was the son of the Late Frank and Violet (Lynk) Donato. Growing up Frank was always noted for stopping to help anyone who may have needed it. Frankie branched out often in his work life, whether it was fishing on his boat, working at Michelin Tire, or National Sea, he always worked hard with a smile on his face. He was well known for his love of animals. When he set his mind to a task, he went all in, often taking over his house with fish tanks, hamster cages, or flowers. He will always be remembered by his family for his loving, silly demeanour and his great cooking skills.

Frank is survived by the love of his life, Susan (Harrietha) Donato; his children, Tanya Donato (Scott Russell) and Robin Donato (Rob Johnstone) and his beautiful granddaughters, whom he treasured: Taylor, Mikayla and Emma. He is also survived by his sisters and brother Judy Rose; Mary MacDonald; and Jake Donato; his nieces and nephews; and his long-time friend Ricky MacIntyre. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother Joseph (Joanne) Donato, and his nephew, Joshua Donato.

A private, family celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the CCU, whose kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated.
