Fred Cantwell

We, the family of Fred Cantwell, are sad to announce his peaceful passing at the Northside General Hospital on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at the age of 88.

                Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late William and Alice Cantwell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

                Let to mourn the loss is his niece, Brenda (Bob) Blinkhorn; grand nephew Kyle; his children, Mark and Jack; grand niece, Jana (Brad Lynk) and their children Katherine and Max; his special sister-in-law, Jacqueline Cantwell; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he was very proud of. He will also be missed by his special friends, Mary and Shaun MacNeil.

                Fred was predeceased by his sisters Rebecca, Jennie, Willena, and Dorothy, and his brothers William and Louie.

                There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at 11 am at the Holy Family Parish, Sydney Mines, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
