It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband, George William Snow.

George passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the age of 84, at Northside General Hospital.

Born in Florence on August 19, 1941, George was the son of the late Samuel and Marjorie (Pye) Snow.

George worked at the Princess Mines at an early age but found his greatest happiness in the outdoors, where hunting and fishing were his true passions. Those quiet moments in nature meant everything to him. When he was home, Elvis Presley often filled the room—a soundtrack to a life lived with heart and soul. He will be remembered for his warmth, his love of the land and water, and the laughter he brought to those around him.

The oldest of seven children, George is survived by his siblings, Joan (Bobby) Pearcey, Wayne (Brenda) Snow, brother-in-law Terry Mills, and his special sister, Thelma (Alex) Johnson. He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Judy, Betty Lou, George (Ann), Robert, John (Nerisa), Jakie (Eva), and Brian (Sharon) Reid.

Also left to mourn are his loving wife of 64 years, ShirleyAnn (Reid) Snow; his daughter, Debbie (Gerard) MacDonald; his son, Eldon (Linda) Snow; his grandchildren, Nichole (Mike), Amanda (Brent), ShirleyAnn (Ryan), Jocelyn (Aidan), Jenna (Shamus), Sam, Eldon-Aaron, and Nancy; and his great-grandchildren, Isaac, Molly, Arabella, Jake, Elliott, Georgie Rose, Brooks, Bowen, and Bailey.

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, especially his nephew Jordan, with whom he shared a special bond.

In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his sisters, Linda and Nancy; his brother, Gordie; his sister-in-law, Mary; his brother-in-law, Billy; his nephew, Alex; and his great-granddaughter, Brielle.

A celebration of George's life will be held on Monday, July 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Florence Legion.
