It is with great sadness and deepest regrets that we, the family, announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Arsenault, of Alder Point, born July 11th, 1947, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on May 17th, 2023
Left to mourn Jerry’s passing are his loving and supportive wife of 54 years, Carol (Evans), and his two beloved children, Jerry Jr. (Alder Point) and Leeanne (Dwayne) Roland, Bras d’Or. His much-loved grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alexa, Jillian, Tyler, and Marc, Two great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Charliegh, as well as his brother Paul (Adele) PEI and his sister Louise.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Ephriam and Rosina Arsenault, his sister Connie (Fred) Snell, and his nephew Fred Snell Jr.
Jerry was a proud member of the U.A. Local 682 Plumbers & Pipefitters union and spent many years working away but never missed an occasion or event with his family
He was also a well-known avid boater and could usually be found working on, painting, or lovingly maintaining his boat, of which he was so proud, “The Elizabeth Scott” When he wasn’t tinkering on his much-loved boat, Jerry loved nothing more than to load his family aboard and head up to Bras d’ Or lakes for an afternoon of BBQ and swimming, or enjoy a nice drive to his favorite Alder Point beach.
The family would like to take this chance to thank the wonderful and caring staff of the 4th floor at the Northside General Hospital. They did a truly amazing job at making sure Jerry was comfortable and loved during his time with them. They would also like the thank Doctors Andrew Wawer and Eugene Ignacio for their compassionate care and all they did for Jerry and the family.

“WHAT CANCER CAN NOT DO”
Cancer is so limited
It cannot cripple love
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot shelter hope
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit
