Gerald (Gerry) Wilson MacNeil
Sydney Mines, NS
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts; we regret to announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, Gerry, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at home. Dad was a wonderful father, poppy, brother, and friend.
Gerry was born on August 20, 1960, to the late Jack and Betty MacNeil. Dad was a solitary person who had a great love of sports, especially the “Leafs” and “Yankees”. He had a great wit that could always make you laugh, and he especially love spending time with his family, having a sing-song, and a tune. Most of all, he loved spending time with his granddaughter Destinee whom he loved dearly and was very proud of.
Gerry is survived by his daughter Alicia (Jason), son Mitchell, granddaughter Destinee, his sister Brenda (Kevin), brothers Jackie (Darlene), Ray (Alice), Scott (Lynn), Charlene the mother of his children, who was always a great friend over the years, also his former in-laws, Robert and Betty Stewart who always remained close, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM service to follow directly at JM Jobes Funeral Home Ltd. in Sydney Mines, officiated by Rev. Corrie Stewart.
Rest in peace, Gerry; we will all miss you.
