HENRY "REGINALD" JESSOME
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Henry "Reginald" Jessome, on Oct. 26, 2023. Born in Millcreek, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary Ann (Marsh) Jessome.
Family was the cornerstone of Reg's life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His love and support for his family was insurmountable. Reg was predeceased by the love of his life of over 60 years, Lillian (Bianchini) Jessome. The family finds great comfort in their faith, knowing that Reg and Lil are now reunited. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his children Anne and Gerard (Kim) and grandchildren Matthew, Faith, Abbie, and Debra. Reg is also survived by his siblings Marguerite Jamieson, Isabelle Taylor, Ellen Penney, and Earl (Gertie) Jessome. Reg was predeceased by his siblings Edward "Naish," Emmett, William R., Thomas, Dennis, John A., Madonna Annesty, Mary O'Hanion, Anna Leblanc, and Bridget Cox.
Reg was a hard worker of 30+ years as an engineering survey technician with the Department of Transportation, where he made many great friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed telling many stories of his career, the projects and roads he worked on, and the great people he met. Reg was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Parish in Bras d'Or. He enjoyed his volunteer time with the St. Joseph's men's club, the cemetery, and finance committees and was proud of his service and contributions to his community.
The family would like to thank Reg's long-time physician, Dr. M. McKeough. They would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care he received from his healthcare team on the eighth floor of the Halifax Infirmary.
A celebration of life for Reg will take place on Monday, October 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph church in Bras d'Or. A luncheon will follow at the Bras d'Or hall. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
