Card of Thanks – HILDA MAE HERVE
We, the family of the late Hilda Mae Hervé, sincerely thank you for your kindness and caring during the
loss of our loved one.
A most heartfelt thank you to all our family, relatives and friends who offered comfort through phone
calls, sympathy cards, floral tributes, donations, visiting the funeral home and attending the funeral.
Your thoughtfulness was a great comfort to us.
A very special thank you to the staff of the Parkstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home in Halifax who took
great care of Hilda. Hilda very much enjoyed the many social activities, meals, companionship and
professional effort by all. You truly made a difference in her life.
Many thanks to Reverend Stephen Mills. She would have been so proud of your service. Further thanks
to Andrew Doyle for his musical accompaniment with Hilda’s favourite hymns.
Jobes Funeral Home, once again your care and professionalism made a difficult time much easier for us.
Wanda Grandy and Bobbie Jobe, thank you very much for joining Arthur, Brian, Nancy, Lisa, Adam and
Beth (Hilda’s family) as pallbearers. Also, much appreciation to the Carman United Church Ladies
Auxiliary for a most impressive, tasty reception.
Your thoughtfulness and kindness will never be forgotten. May God bless each and every one of you.
Gratefully,
sons Brian, Wilfred, Arthur, Wayne and families, the Bragg and Hervé families.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother in Halifax on April 20, 2026. Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was the youngest daughter of the late George and Mary (nee MacKeigan) Bragg of Half Way Road, Sydney Mines. She loved to quilt, sew, do bead work and other crafts which she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. Hilda was a caring person with a sharp wit and playful sense of humour. The love and pride she had in her sons, passed down to her grandchildren whom she found most enjoyable, loveable and very special.
Hilda is survived by her four sons: Wayne (Cathy) and daughter Mackenzie of Edmonton, AB; Arthur (Nancy) and children Adam, Edana, great-granddaughter Jane of Centreville, NS; Wilfred of Dawson Creek, BC; and Brian (Lisa) and daughter Beth of Ottawa, ON. She is also survived by her sister Ruby Pye of Sydney Mines, NS, and brothers Wilfred (Shirley) of Bobcaygeon, ON, Keith (Helen) and Lawrence (Pauline) of Dalem Lake, NS. Hilda was predeceased by her husband, the late John (Sonny) Hervé and sisters Hazel Bragg, Willena Mulley, Christina Petillot, Mildred Seguin and brothers Wayne, John, George and Roy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Hilda’s family will receive visitors at JM Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines from 6 - 8 pm Saturday, 2 May. Funeral service, officiated by Rev Stephen Mills, to be held at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines 2 pm Sunday, 3 May, immediately followed by reception at Carman United Church. Burial to take place in Brookside Cemetery, with immediate family in attendance. The family would appreciate donations be made to your local food bank or a charity of your choice.

Which only you can fill
