It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ian Fraser of St.
Albert, Alberta (formerly of Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia) on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the
age of 87 years.
Ian was father to 7 boys: Allistair (Dianne), Rene (Clare, deceased), George (Sherry),
Sandy, Kenny (Joanne), Troy (Denise), and Scott; he was Poppy to 9 of grandchildren,
2 step grandsons; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister Martha Sexton.
Ian was a long-time volunteer with St. John Ambulance in Edmonton. He dearly loved
working with many of the staff at Connelly McKinley Funeral Homes over 25 years and
remained friends with many after his retirement.
Family, long-time co-workers and friends will lovingly remember Ian.
There will be a gravesite service at Brookside Cemetery at 11:30am on July 4 th , 2026.
