It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Bradley, who passed away peacefully sleeping at home on Monday, July 8th, 2024.
Born in Florence on October 4th, 1952, she was the daughter of the Late Elmer and Mary (Jobes) Devoe and her stepmother, Pearl (Jobes) Devoe.
Irene worked at the Alder Point Fish Plant for many years until she got her dream job with the school board where she remained until retirement. In her early days, Irene enjoyed Bowling, playing cards, washer toss, and having her famous garage parties with family and friends.
She will be missed for making her meat pies and cabbage rolls for the family at Christmas time. Irene was an amazing woman who took pleasure in doing and planning things for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Irene is now reunited with the love of her life, Robert, whom she missed immensely.
She is survived by her pride and joy daughter Michelle (Dave), two beautiful granddaughters, Madison and Morgan, and grandson Jordan, who were the light of her life. Also left to mourn are her sisters Mary (Mae) Penny and Rosalie Bragg, and many nieces, nephews, sisters, and brothers-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her sisters Winnifred, Brenda MacLellan, and Rogene McGean, brothers John Elmer (Brother) and Melvin, as well as her father and mother-in-law Robert and Mildred Bradley.
We want to send a special thank you to her cousins, Pauline, and Catherine Jobes, for always being available at a moment's notice and for their many visits. Also, a very special thank you to Rosalie for being by Mom’s side after Dad's passing; we will be forever grateful.
Cremation has taken place; a visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, from 6-8 pm at JM Jobes Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Monday, July 15th, 2024, at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Main Street Sydney Mines.
