John William “Jack” Hawkins
Sydney Mines
Our beautiful son and brother Jack has gone forward into eternal life this week to join his father Jimmy Hawkins, his brother Earl, and those of his family who have gone before him in God’s eternal presence. We are very saddened but also filled with joy, knowing that Jack’s sufferings are over and his joys are now before him.
Jack is and was of the highest degree of gentleness and simplicity. His presence was charming, and one simple gaze into his big blue eyes would melt your heart. Everyone who ever made contact with Jack would love him. Jack brought a great deal of Love everywhere he went, and it is with this in mind that we will miss him tremendously.
Jack was born to his late father William “Jimmy” Hawkins and Margaret Hawkins of Sydney Mines in the fall of 1961 and passed from this life on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Highland Vision Society, Dingwall, NS.
Jack is survived by his mother Margaret Hawkins, sisters Dawn (William) Brown, Sydney Mines, Darlene, Saskatchewan, Michele (Charlie) Bennett, Sydney Mines, and Karen (Shaun), Sydney Mines, as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Jack was predeceased by his father Jimmy and brother Earl, who loved Jack very much.
A special word needs to be given to Jody and staff at the Highland vision Society in Dingwall. You received Jack 12 years ago with open arms and he instantly became a friend, brother, and most importantly a part of your family. Your love and care for Jack went above and beyond anything we could have ever hoped for in his placement. It was never a client relationship, it was so much more. Our prayer for you is that every bit of Love you gave to Jack, you will receive back one hundredfold. May God bless you.
Visitation for Jack Hawkins will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4-7 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The funeral Mass will be held Friday, at 2 pm in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines. Covid 19 restrictions will be observed in the funeral home and the church. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
