It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Jackie Jessome, on August 30, 2025. Born in Sydney Mines on July 22, 1959, Jackie was the cherished son of the late Adrian and Margaret (Pearcey) Jessome.
Jackie is survived by his siblings: Lorraine, Ken (Kathy), Jocelyn, Jody (Jeanne), Darrell, Tim (Heather), David (Raylene), and Mark (Hali), as well as by his many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him. He is also fondly remembered by his dear friend, Liam MacMullin.
Besides his parents, Jackie was predeceased by his brothers-in-law Tony Rendell and Clifford MacDonald, and his sister-in-law Bonnie Jessome.
Jackie spent 25 years working at Terramac as a heavy equipment mechanic, a trade that became both his career and lifelong passion. In his younger years, his adventurous spirit carried him across the world windsurfing—a free soul chasing the wind. Later, he found joy in restoring and fabricating classic cars and power wagons, with a particular pride in the Adrian Jessome Award at this year’s Northside Boys Car Show, a tribute that carried deep meaning for him.
Jackie’s hands were always busy, his laughter was contagious, and his heart was generous. Whether he was under the hood of an engine or swapping stories with friends, he brought a spark of light and humor wherever he went.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Jackie will be missed more than words can say—but his spirit, like the cars he lovingly restored and the waves he once chased, will keep on rolling.
