James Doucette Obituary

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of James Charles Doucette at Neils Harbour Highland Mannor Nursing Home on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.
Born in Neils Harbour, November 14th, 1949.  “Charlie” was a Retire Veteran who served his country proudly, a Fisherman, and an avid Hunter. A lover of Blue Grass Music and was known among his friends as Charlie Rubber Boots, I expect it was in reference to stomping his boots to his favourite Willie Nelson song “7 Spanish Angels”
Charlie is survived by his two brothers, John (Toronto) and Bernard (Halifax) , daughters Patricia, NS, Caroline, AB, Sons, Jonathan, Ont.Jamie, AB, and grandchildren Joshua and Kristina who always referred to Charlie as their Ingonish Grandfather,Grandchildren Nick Tooke Grand Prairie Alta. Colby Mac Askill Halifax N.S. Emma Mac Askill Middelton N.S.and one Great Grandson Mason Hubley Middelton N.S.as well as many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his loving parents mother Evelyn Caroline (Williams) Doucette in 2018. Father James Matthew Doucette in 1997 and younger brother Bernard Maurice Doucette
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held in June.

“Gone Fishing”
I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won’t be long you will see,
Till we’re together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I’m missin’
Just tell ’em I’ve gone fishin’
