It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jayden Lee Alexander Dunphy, who passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born on August 26, 2005, in Sydney, Jayden was the beloved son of Alex Dunphy (Angie MacIntyre) and Naomi MacDonald. His sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jayden was a graduate of Cabot High School and had recently begun lobster fishing with his uncle, Jonnie, embracing the hard work and traditions of coastal life with enthusiasm and determination. He was a young man known for his honesty, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Jayden had a passion for sports, especially hockey and baseball, and enjoyed following and playing sports whenever he could. His easy smile, genuine nature, and willingness to help others made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
Above all else, Jayden cherished the people in his life. He valued time spent with family, and his friendships meant the world to him. He shared a special bond with his close-knit group of friends, affectionately known as “the boys,” who will forever treasure the memories they created together.
Besides his parents, Jayden is survived by his paternal grandparents, Alex and Susan Dunphy; his maternal grandparents, Richard (Joan) and Kerry MacDonald; his siblings, Emma MacKinnon, Carsen Dunphy, Jase Theriault, and Trey McPhee; his uncles, Jason Dunphy, Jonnie Dunphy, Christopher Dunphy, and Garry MacDonald; as well as several cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Jayden was predeceased by his uncle, Brandon MacDonald.
Though his life was far too short, Jayden's impact on those around him was immeasurable. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his honesty, his love of family and friends, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love held by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation for Jayden will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to celebrate his life directly following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, Dingwall. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
