Jim Cullen
Sydney Mines
With heavy hearts, we, the family of Jim Cullen regret to announce his passing on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 in palliative care Celtic Court.
Born May 13th, 1948 in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Max and Beatrice (Hall) Cullen. Jim is survived by his wife Marguerite (Walker) Cullen, daughter Kimberley (Jason) Min of Calgary, and grandchildren Sydney and Jackson Min, whom he loved so much. He is survived by his sister Yvonne Farnsworth and his brother Brian (Geraldine) Cullen, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Edna (Lew) Fiander, Lovie (Maury) Pyke, Rita (Carl) MacRae, and brother-in-law Cliff Farnsworth.
Jim worked at Capital Drugs in Sydney Mines for 31 years and loved a good laugh with co-workers and many of the people that would come into the store. He had a deep love of music, and it gave him great joy over the years. He learned to play the guitar and would spend many hours writing music and playing. As a young boy, you could find Jim on the ball field playing and coaching.
Heartfelt thank you to Roxanne (Nurse Manager) for her dedication to dad and his family. We want to send a thank you to the many workers on Scotia Lane of Celtic Court, including Barb, Myrna, and Debbie for doing their job and so much more. A special thank you to the nurses Jane, Heidi, and Mary Lee, who took such great care of him.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no service at this time. In memory of Jim, donations may be made to the Sydney Mines food bank. Words of comfort may be forwarded to www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
