William James (Howdy) Donovan

We regret to announce the passing of Jimmy Donovan, 78, on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on May 3, 1943, Jimmy was the son of the late Jimmy and Emma (Jessome) Donovan.
In his early days, Jimmy (Howdy) enjoyed coaching children’s baseball, bowling, hunting and fishing. He loved playing various types of cards at different venues. He was a member of the Sydney Mines Legion, Branch 8.
Jimmy is survived by his brother Gordie, sisters Margaret, Mary and Donna. Also left to mourn are his children Kim, Bev (Andrew), Charlie (Mellisa), and Cory (Rickie), step-children Jimmy (Marie), Joe, Elaine, Bruce (Wanda), Brenda, Sharon, Derrick (Kim), and Judy (Vince), many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his life-long partner Daisy Noble, his brother Johnny, and son-in-law Alec Young.
