Shore Road, Florence.
It is with broken hearts, we the family regret to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather & Brother “Bud” Jardine on January 19th 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Bud was born in his family home on Shore Road, Florence on September 25th, 1941 to John & Monica (O’Neil) Jardine.
He is survived by his wife Heather (MacQueen), daughter Audrey (Bill) Capstick, and his three sons, Johnny, Dave, & Scott (Nikki). Four grandchildren; Maurice Capstick, Hillary Capstick, Scotty Jardine, and Brandon Jardine. Two Great grandchildren; Leelan & Leia Capstick. He is also survived by his three sisters; Muriel Young, Del Fougere, and Esther (Darrell) Bishop. Predeceased by his parents and special sister-in-law, Laurie (MacQueen) Burns.
Our family is very proud of his work ethic and his commitment to ensuring that each project he took on throughout his very long career as a heavy machine operator was done right. He often would say, “You have to see the job finished before you start.” His exceptional work ethic was instilled in his children and grandchildren and he smiled in knowing that he was their role model.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Bras d’or on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am with Father Paul Murphy officiating. As per his wishes, he will be laid to rest privately at Shore Road, Florence.
Donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
