It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Willard “Forbes” LeBlanc, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Northside Guest Home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 10, 1947, John was the son of the late Julia Elizabeth (Lizzie) MacLean and Leander LeBlanc. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Jacqueline; brothers Alvin, David, and George (Buddy); sister Lois; brothers-in-law Phillip Warren and Nicholas Howell; and sister-in-law Ann.
John will be lovingly remembered by his children: Kingsley, Alvin (Lori), and Coralee; grandchildren Christopher, Daniel, Sara, Alexis, Drew, and Beau. Also left to mourn are his devoted partner, Alberta Carey; sister Patricia Warren; brother Eddie (Bernadette); sister-in-law Anna; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A man of simple joys, John was happiest when fishing—a passion he pursued whenever he could. He loved music and filled many gatherings with the sound of his guitar and harmonica. Above all, John loved life, his family, and the people around him. His kind heart, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or.
