JOHN ANGUS BOUTILIER (JIGGER)
John Angus (Jigger) Boutilier, Sydney Mines, born Oct. 4,1933. It is with eternal love and broken hearts that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our father on Monday, April 4, 2022, at the tender age of 88. A loving, quiet and gentle soul, who loved all his family passionately.
Jigger, as strong as his name, ventured to, and raised his family in Ontario, then returned to his hometown to enjoy his golden years with siblings. He loved playing darts, bowling, dancing, and was always up for a good party where he loved to sing. He also enjoyed the racetrack, and of course the good old hockey game.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara Boutilier nee Clarkson, and late life partner Ferla Genoe. Loving father of Paul, Michelle, Blair (Debbie), and Nicole (Wayne). Beloved grandfather of Mallory, John, Brittney, Carson, and Jade. Dear son of the late Sarah (Steele) and Frederick Boutilier. Beloved brother to the late Cornelius (Connie), Frederick (Teddy) and sister Alice Boutilier. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Alex (Sandra), Colin (Sheila), Mary-Jane Elliott (Colin), Lloyd (Judy) Paulette Fowler (Bob) and Joan Boutilier.
He will be truly missed by all his family and those whose lives he touched.
His family will greet visitors on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 12:30 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place at 1:30 in the funeral home.
