John Thomas (Slick) MacLeod
We regret to announce the passing of John Thomas (Slick) MacLeod, on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on March 4,1948, he was the son of the late Isabel (MacLeod) Mills.
Slick was known for his wheeling and dealing. He was a retired coal miner with a kind heart. Slick was great to everyone he knew.
He is survived by his only daughter Mary MacLeod, the mother of his children Mary (Phalen) MacLeod, grandchildren, Christopher Coleski, Marsha Coleski, Cody MacLeod, and Amber MacLeod, and great-grandchildren, Landon, Kohen, Payton, Kaden, and Christina.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his son Michael MacLeod, along with a son in infancy.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Slick’s cousin Cathy Carey for all her help.
There will be a graveside service held to celebrate Slicks life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sydney Mines, with Deacon Dave Lewis officiating.
