Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Ambrose “Brosie” LeBlanc, age 85, on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Alder Point on October 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen “Nellie” LeBlanc of Alder Point.

Dad was such a kind and gentle man, who is dearly loved by all. Brosie loved music. He loved to sing, play the guitar, harmonica, and many other instruments.

Dad and Sally loved to play music together. With Dad playing the guitar and harmonica, and Sally on the keyboard, they would often play at the Pensioners Club in Bras d’Or, as well as senior homes and Legions in the area. Being a great handyman, Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was truly an amazing man who will be forever missed.

Brosie is survived by his companion Sally Stubbert, his children Mitch (Hannah), Ken (Shelly), Lisa (David), and Lori, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by Sally’s children, Catherine, Wendell, Ross (Rhonda), and Todd (Tammy), as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Also left to mourn are his siblings Melvin (Rose), Brian (Tina), Carol (Eddie), and Ann Marie (Frank), sisters-in-law Willena LeBlanc and Lenora Jessome, along with many nieces and nephews.

 Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John, sister Jenny, nephew Shelly, a brother in infancy, also by Sally’s grandson Will and daughter-in-law Cathy.

There will be no visitation. The funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or. There will be limited seating in the church due to Covid 19.
