Our hearts are filled with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of our precious mother, Joyce (Marie) Brown, on July 15, 2024, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend at the age of 71. Joyce lived a faithful life for the Lord Jesus and was a committed stay-at-home mom raising five children. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Norman " Onnie " Brown.
She is survived by her children Aubrey (Dawn), Hope B.C, Christian (Kori), Creston, B.C, John (Cindy), Eastern Passage, N.S, Cora, and Calvin Brown. Also surviving are her sisters, Yvonne Fry, Mary LeBlanc (Bud Pero), Wilma Sayer, and Evelyn Fry-MacKinnon (Andrew), and one brother, Gordon Fry (Darlene), and many nieces and nephews. Also, her beloved grandchildren.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Aubrey (Pauline) Fry Sydney Mines.
She was also predeceased sisters Cora and Audrey and brother Martin.
Joyce was so well loved by all who knew her and would light up every room she walked into. Joyce loved her family and spending time at our cabin in Orangedale, where years of memories were made with fishing trips, beach trips, and many amazing meals for everyone around.
Mom fought an undefeatable fight with Alzheimer's for the last number of years, and finally, she is home in heaven with her Savior. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held at JM Jobes Funeral Home Main Street Sydney Mines, Saturday, July 20th, from 2-3 pm, with the funeral following at 3 pm. A reception will be held at the Sydney Mines Firehall after the burial. A special thanks to Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Sydney for the wonderful care of Mom over the years and Palliative Care at the Regional Hospital in Sydney.
Romans 14:8 KJV "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live or die we are the Lord's."
