Judith Parks Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Judith Paulette (Pye) Parks of Florence, at Cape Breton Regional Hospital on September 4, 2025.

Born in Florence on July 12, 1949, Judy was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Bond) Pye.

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hugh; her son, Kevin; her brother, Neil; her parents-in-law, Ernest and Gladys Parks; and her sisters-in-law, Francis, Patsy, and Deborah.

She will be forever missed by her daughter, Karen (Don); daughter-in-law, Amy; and her cherished grandchildren: Melissa (Shean), Sara (Keith), Jaclyn (Kyle), Derek (Brandi), Taylor, Zachary (Emma), and Zenon, along with her 14 precious great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Wilma (Fred); her brothers, Bill (Nell), Johnny (Vee), Butch, and Robert (Jim); sisters-in-law, Linda, Sheila, and Susan (Michael); brother-in-law, Bill (Juanita); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Judy’s life was also deeply enriched by her lifelong best friend, Brenda Keating.

Arrangements are entrusted to J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Florence Legion. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Sharon and Emma for their loving care, and to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
