With profound sadness, we, the family of Katherine Grace Brooks, announce her sudden and unexpected passing on June 19, 2025, in Borden, Ontario at the age of 39 years.
Beloved daughter of Michelle (Brian) White and Carl (Valerie) Brooks, Katherine will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her devoted partner, Patrick Kelly, and her cherished son, Noah Brooks (his father, Shane Hodge), who was the light of her life. Her beloved fur-baby Finnegan will be lost in her absence.
Katherine found immense joy in the simple and meaningful things—her family, the peaceful retreat of her grandfather’s cabin, the pocket full of treats she kept for four-legged creatures of all types, and the pure love and laughter of children. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives and revealed her pure soul and love in her volunteer service and care for others. Beware the glitter in any card or letter she sent.
Having recently relocated to Borden; she often spoke of how much she missed her Maritime family and friends. Yet, she found strength and camaraderie in a supportive military community that welcomed her with open arms.
Despite facing several years of medical challenges, Katherine met them with courage and resilience. She had overcome much and was filled with hope for the future.
She is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Milton Jardine, her paternal grandparents, Carl and Ruby Brooks, George and Gretta White, her aunt, Susan Oakes, her cousins, Steven Brooks, Jillian Brown, Tommy Oakes, and her brother, Benjamin, whose memory she carried close to her heart.
Katherine is survived by many loving family members, including Grandmother Theresa Jardine, step-sister Tanya Howley, step-brothers Christopher White and Brian White Jr., parents-in-law Michael and Joyce Kelly, sister-in-law Christina (Christopher) Tomson, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins, all of whom will remember her with deep affection and love.
Katherine’s spirit, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered always.
