Kelly Marie Luker

With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Kelly Marie Luker, age 50, of Florence, on May 3, 2025.
Kelly was predeceased by her beloved father, Gary Luker. She leaves behind her devoted husband and lifelong best friend of 36 years, James MacDonald, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She was the proud and loving mother of Alyssa (Blair), Akayla (Brandon), and Trystan (Jess), and the adoring Nanny to her treasured grandchildren: Carson, Alex, Mason, and Makenzie. Her heart also belonged to her dear mother, Heidy (Bill), and she will be deeply missed by her brothers Paul (Danielle) and Gary (Holly), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her faithful companion, Bella.
Born on August 27, 1974, Kelly met the love of her life at a young age, and together they built a family that was her world. She was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren, who were truly the center of her universe. Known affectionately as “Nanny Luker,” she was everything a grandmother should be—warm, fun, supportive, and full of unconditional love.
Kelly had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued. Her radiant personality lit up every room she entered, and her door—and heart—were always open. She never missed a chance for a chat, a hug, or a laugh. Her love for music was contagious, and hearing her favorite songs will forever bring us comfort and fond memories.
To her family and many friends, she was more than a mother, wife, daughter, and sister—she was a guiding light, a second mom to many, and a constant source of kindness and care.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of JM Jobes Funeral Home, Main Street, Sydney Mines. A celebration of Kelly Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, from 2–4 PM at the Florence Legion. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share in honoring her remarkable life.
