It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Kevin James Jackson at his home in Bras D’or
at 68 years of age. Born in Sydney he was the son of the late Charles and Annie Mae (Murphy) Jackson.
Kevin’s mother passed when he was five years old, he was raised by his beloved aunt and uncle
Dan (Sparky) and Mabel MacNeil. Kevin was an avid music lover and in his younger years played the
drums with a group of friends. Kevin and his wife Geraldine operated a janitorial business which
provided services to many buildings in the Sydney area.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Geraldine (Brown) Jackson, son Terrance (Amanda), Mason and
Emily. Brother’s Bruce and Frankie (Shirley) and sister Margaret. Also by his in-laws who Kevin was very
close to mother in-law Bessie Brown, Melvin (Chistine Devoe) Valerie (Ron Day), and brother in-law
Jimmy Brown and several nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his father in-law James Brown and his sister in-law Edna Jackson.
The Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michele McKeough and Louise for their
medical care. Also to Blair and Ellen Gushue who always took the time to call or visit Kevin. They were
lifelong friends to him.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday January 3rd 2024 at J.M. Jobes Funeral home in Sydney
Mines with the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. Donations can be made in memory of Kevin to the
Alzheimer’s Society or charity of choice.
