It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kyle Reid, age 37, who left us far too soon on October 28, 2025. Kyle was the beloved son of Judy Reid and Roy MacLean. He was born and raised in Cape Breton but spent many years working as a labourer in Alberta before returning home, where he felt most at peace. Known for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty, Kyle had a kind soul, and his laughter could light up a room.
In his younger years, Kyle was a gifted athlete, excelling in hockey and baseball. He played with passion, teamwork, and determination. Though life's challenges often weighed heavily on him, one thing that never wavered was Kyle's love for his children, Carlee and Merrick. They were his proudest accomplishments and his greatest joy. He often spoke of them and loved them with all his heart.
We will remember Kyle for his laughter, wit, and charm. Most importantly, his experience taught us to be compassionate toward one's struggles and to see the person within. Kyle leaves behind his parents, children, and siblings (Kimberly, Keri-Lee, Amy, and Roy), as well as his special aunts and uncles (Shirley Ann, Betty Lou, Johnny, Bobby, Georgie, Brian, and Jakie), and his best friend, Neil.
Kyle shared a special bond with his late nephew, Colton, whose memory he carried close to his heart. Their connection was one of deep love and understanding, and now they are reunited, free from pain and at peace together.
A Celebration of Kyle's Life will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Florence Legion. The service will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a gathering of family and friends to share stories and remember him with love.
A mother's love never fades, even through the hardest storms. Judy stood by her son through it all, with a strength and love that knew no limits. May Kyle finally rest in peace. We love you.
