It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we, the family of Lesina Edwards, regret to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother on August 24, 2024. Born in Sydney Mines on December 12, 1944.
Lesina “Lecky” was the beloved daughter of the late Norman “Diddy” Mac Intyre and Eva Boutilier Mac Intyre. Mom was an avid card game player. She enjoyed a good game of poker and 45's. She was well known around the card games and was someone whom everyone wanted as a partner, as she could win every round with her eyes closed! Mom was known as "Lucky Lecky."
Mom loved the simple things in life, and it didn't take much to make her happy. She loved bingo, Pepsi, her cat - Putty Wut, cucumber sandwiches, soap operas, long drives, tomatoes from her granddaughter's garden, Christmas, a peach cooler from time to time, and the Price is right. Above all else, she cherished her children and grandchildren.
We take comfort in knowing that Mom is now reunited with Dad (her lifelong husband), our sister, and brother, and know they were waiting for her with loving, open arms.
Mom was predeceased by her parents (Eva and Norman “Diddy”) and siblings: Naomi, Leanie, Leona, Margie, Geri, Lillian, Danny, Philly, Ronnie, Diddy, and Kay. Mom was also predeceased by her children: Kimberly (Murray), Chris (Amanda), and her husband Alex Edwards.
Her memory will always live on in the hearts of her loving children, Sherry (Ronnie), Romane, Juanita (Gary), and Wayne (Anne-Marie); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ricky, Melvin, Beanie, and Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
Our mom was a sweet lady with a kind heart who would give you anything. She always had a smile for everyone she met and was a gentle soul who made this world that much brighter! We will all miss her dearly, but we know we will be reunited one day on the other side.
Cremation has taken place; a visitation and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug 31, from 12-2 pm at JM Jobes Funeral Home. A Prayer service will follow at 2 pm.
