It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Joyce Kendall (Rose), who passed away peacefully at the Northside General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and especially treasured the time she spent with her family. Her greatest happiness came from gathering her loved ones together, sharing Sunday dinners, family walks, laughter, stories, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Linda enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles, cribbage, board games, movies, music, and dancing. A devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leaf’s and the Toronto Blue Jays, she rarely missed a game and loved cheering on her favourite teams. She was known for her caring nature and could often be found on the telephone, keeping in touch with family and friends. Nothing brightened her day more than a call from one of her children.

Those who knew Linda will remember her generous spirit, her welcoming smile, and her unwavering love for her family. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply listen when someone needed a friend. Her home was a place of comfort, love, and laughter, and her family was the center of her world.

Linda took great pride in her work as an accountant, a profession she truly loved. Throughout her career, she worked with National Sea, Nickerson's, Glace Bay Fisheries, and spent the last twenty years with Three Port Fisheries. Linda was highly respected for her dedication, professionalism, and expertise, and many who worked alongside her often remarked that she was among the very best at what she did. At Three Port Fisheries, she found more than a workplace—she found a second family. She shared a special bond with Anthony and Rachel, who held a cherished place in her heart. Although Anthony was technically her employer, he often referred to Linda as "the boss," a title that reflected the respect and admiration he had for her. Linda lovingly considered Rachel as a second daughter. During her illness, she often spoke of how much she looked forward to returning to work and being reunited with the people she cared for so deeply. Her family is forever grateful to Anthony and Rachel for the love, friendship, and kindness they showed Linda throughout the years.

Linda leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Rick; her cherished children, Ricky ( Brett), Natasha ( Stephen); her adored grandchildren, Maddie Rose,  Preston, and Heidi Grace and Roman ( Nanny’s Blow up Buddy).She is also survived by her sisters, Stella Howatson (Bruce), Sharon Rose (Dale), Ellen MacSween (Ron), and Grace Rose Miller (Ron); her sister-in-law, Florence Rose; her brother-in-law; Butch Kendall (Cecilia),sister-in-law Johanna Ashford. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who considered her family.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Dorothy (Groves) Rose, sister, Doreen Rose, brother Gordie Rose, brother-in-law Garland Ashford, aunt Joyce Groves and Uncle Clyde Rose.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rosie with homecare whom our mother loved dearly. The staff on 4 west at the Northside General who provided Linda with compassionate care throughout her illness. VON for their kindness and compassion. TO her good friends Pam and Gail, Mom loved and spoke to them often, they brought her great solace. Their kindness and support will never be forgotten.

A visitation for the late Linda Kendall will be held on Monday June 22, 2026 from 1-2 pm with a celebration of her life directly following a 2 pm in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with a reception to follow in Holy Family Parish Hall.

In keeping with Linda's caring nature, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Center,  Hospice organization of one's choice, or to anyone who would benefit from the abundance of love Mom always had to give.
