Linda Darlene MacKinnon
68, Sydney Mines
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Linda Darlene MacKinnon on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the age of 68.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Joy) MacKinnon. Linda was a kind-hearted and strong-willed woman who lived her life for what she loved most of all: her family and her partner, William Robert Foster, by whom she will be deeply missed. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Linda's legacy lives on through her beloved daughters, Cherie (Timmy) and Shelly. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Sarah, and Danielle, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Braxton, Mackenna, and Xavier.
She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Charles of Vernon, Ontario; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; her aunts and uncles; and her many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her sister, Ann Mae MacKinnon; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edith and Thomas Foster; and her grandmother, Annie Joy, whom Linda loved dearly and regarded as a mother.
In keeping with Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines. Online condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home's website.
