With great sadness, we, the family of Marie Capstick, announce her passing on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital.

Born in Sydney Mines on April 22, 1952, she was the daughter of the late John Angus MacKinnon and Eva MacKinnon Royal, and also her guardians (Alex Bec and Dolly).

 Marie spent her life looking after her family. There wasn't anything more important to her than having a big family gathering and a big meal with lots of laughter around her.

She was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Ernest Bain Capstick, brother Thomas, and son-in-law Charlie Lillington.

Left to mourn are her girls Rose (John), Karen (Fred), Heather (Merrill) Sarah (Avery). Grandchildren Leonard, Blaine, Kyle, Veronica, Dillan, Karalee, Keith, Eva, Mason, and Leah. Great grandchildren, Kingston, Matthew, Harland, and Emma. Brothers Hector (Sadie), Sammy (Stella), sisters Florence (Willie) Jesse (Kevin).

Cremation has taken place. Visitation Tuesday, Jan 31, 2023, from 11-1 at St Margaret's of Scotland Church, Bay St Lawrence. A celebration of life to follow. The burial will take place at a later date. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Buchanan Memorial Hospital for providing good care for our mother.
