Marie Lillian Scott (Harrietha) (Nee Lettice)

Our Mom, Marie L. Scott, age 84, peacefully passed Thursday, March 16th, 2023, in MacGillvary Guest Home after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. Mom was born in Sydney Mines, CB, on February 9, 1939, to the late Daniel Joseph and Harriet Helen (Belmore) Lettice.

Marie was the mother to two daughters, Anita Jamieson (Patrick), Cobblehill, B.C., and Wanda Seward (David), North Sydney.

Besides her daughters, Marie is survived by her grandson, Ian, Vancouver, B.C., brothers, Clinton Lettice (Pat), Sydney Mines, Jonny Lettice (Selina Harris), North Sydney, sisters, Betty O’Neill-Allen (Steve), Elmsdale, NS, Marion Devoe (Gordie), Sydney Mines, Kaye Moore (Larry), Sackville, NS, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her first husband of 35 years, Ferdinand Harrietha, her second husband of 16 years, David Scott, her grandson, Kyle MacDonald, Victoria, BC, brother, Daniel, sisters, Josephine in infancy, Kathleen, Jane, and Mary.

The family would like to thank MacGillvary Guest Home for the excellent and exceptional care given to our Mom, where she had resided for the past four and one-half years. To the entire staff, your understanding, kindness, and empathy are very much appreciated and will not be forgotten. Family flowers only.

Her family will receive visitors on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 10 - 11 am in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. 

The funeral will be held at 11 am in the funeral home.
