Marion Theresa Marinelli

 Sydney Mines,  It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Marion Theresa Marinelli, age 71, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving family, Marion took her final breath on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. 

Born in Sydney Mines, November 22 1950, Marion was the daughter of the late Adrian and Annie O'Toole. 

Marion was a dedicated LBG Supervisor at St. Joseph's Elementary for many years as well as a hard-working member of Local 92. She loved her co-workers and shared many laughs and memories with them all. 

Marion was known for her welcoming nature. She loved trips to the Casino, shopping, yard work, and sitting under her favorite tree.  Her light-hearted ways and her ability to make everyone laugh will always be remembered. 

Above all else, Marion loved her family. She was a devoted Mom to Wayne (Katrina) O'Toole, Kat Marinelli, and Paul (Reta) Marinelli. She was the best and most proud Grandma of Logan, Sean, Dominic, Emily, Sawyer, Annie, Sadie, and Theo. Marion leaves behind her loving sister Marlene (Ernie) Cousins, and brothers Adrian (Phyllis) O'Toole, and Brian (Kathy) O'Toole. Also left to grieve are her daughter-in-law, Dr. Amy Wambolt, and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends, too many to name.

Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Dominic (Burpy), sister and brother-in-law Anne and Tony (Toe) Marinelli, and brother Lenny (Marlene) O'Toole.  

The family would like to send a warm thank you to all the wonderful staff of the VON, Palliative Care, Northside Homemakers, and especially Dr. Poulos and Dr. Saliba for their dedication to Mom's care.  Also, a huge, loving thank you to everyone who showed so much love and support. Your time, generosity, love, and friendship will be forever embedded in the hearts and thoughts of Marion's family. 

Visitation for Marion will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 1 to 3pm with a service to celebrate her life at 3pm with Deacon Dave Lewis officiating at JM Jobes Funeral Home in Sydney Mines. Covid protocols of mask wearing and showing proof of double vaccination will be required.
