The family of Marlene Lovell sadly announces her passing on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born on June 3, 1938, in Sydney Mines, Marlene was the daughter of the late Garfield and Mable Jones.
Marlene was predeceased by her loving husband, George Lovell, and by her siblings Conrad (Connie), Sheldon (Grace), Garland (Les), and Miriam (Sonny). She is survived by her children Valerie, Larry, John, Phyllis, and George; her sister Evelyn (Lawrence) Howard; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
In her younger years, Marlene had a special fondness for simple joys—days spent at the beach, sunshine on her face, and the laughter of family close by. She was well known for preparing a “big feed,” as she called it, cooking with love and making sure everyone who walked through her door left with a full stomach and a warm heart. Her home was a place of comfort, and her kindness extended to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As per Marlene’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service, and cremation has taken place.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Northside Community Guest Home and Northside Home Care for their dedication, compassion, and care. A very special expression of gratitude goes to Marjorie and family, and to Eve and Lawrence, for their continued help, support, and understanding during this time.
Marlene will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
