Max Voutier Obituary

Max Clayton Voutier, 91, of Sydney Mines, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026
in palliative care at Northside General Hospital following a long battle
with cancer.

The son of Cecil and Phoebe Voutier, Max followed in his father's
footsteps and worked at the CN/Marine Atlantic wharf in North Sydney as a stevedore
for 40 years.

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his son, Paul,
daughter, Karen, grandson, TJ (and wife, Julia, along
with their dog, Kobe, that dad was so fond of), as well as by his extended family.

Throughout his life, he did much volunteer work, including playing Santa Claus at
the Burn Camp in New Campbellton for many years. This also led him to being Santa Claus for many other groups as well as for many local families, a role in which he was
beloved by both children and their parents.

In Keeping with Max’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery at11am on July 9, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or
Carmen United Church in Sydney Mines.
