Michael Francis Marsh – Millcreek
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Father, the late Michael Francis Marsh, on May 30th, 2023, at the age of 74, at home.
Michael was born in Millcreek on June 1st, 1948. He was the son of the late Bernard and Liza (Harrietha) Marsh.
Michael started his electrician career in the coal mines and retired from C.S.L. after sailing the great lakes for 35 years. He was a member of the Seafarer’s International Union and St. Joseph’s Church in Bras d’Or. Michael enjoyed hunting, tinkering in the barn, and planting his vegetable garden.
Michael is survived by his spouse Corella, his son Troy (Justine), his daughter Tania (John), and his stepchildren Tina Rowntree and Keith Appleby. His grandchildren Ethan, Kate, Dakota, Lincoln, and his great–grandchildren Braven and Jace. His sisters Ann Marie (late George) Burton, Mona (late John F.) McDonald, Carmelita (late Stanley) Peck, Doreen (Cyril) Redmond, Bernadette (Philip) Theriault, Sandra (John) Allen, and Carol Anne (Joe) Gielen.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sister Madonna Bagnell and brothers Carl, John Willie, and Blake.
A special thanks go out to the hard-working Doctors and Nurses in the I.C.U. of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Michael’s family will receive visitors on Monday, June 05, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with Deacon Dave Lewis officiating. A light lunch will be held in Bras d’Or Hall afterward.
