Obituary

Miriam Beatrice (Smith) Organ

Neil’s Harbour

We, the family of the late Miriam Beatrice (Smith) Organ of Neil’s Harbour, regret to announce her passing on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the age of 86.

Mom was an avid knitter who enjoyed making hats, mittens, socks, and sweaters for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She will forever be remembered for being a wonderful, caring Nanny who cooked many meals and baked many batches of cookies for them. She loved every one of them unconditionally.

She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Church.

Left behind to mourn her death and celebrate her life are daughter Wanda (Wayne) Murray and sons Jerry (Joan) and Greg (Jackie). Grandchildren, Shaun (Lisa) Briand, Kendra Mike Lomheim, Corinne (Dustin) MacKeil, John Mitchell (Denise) Organ, Lacey (Rob) Sutherland, Jenna Organ.

Great grandchildren, Peyton, Myla, Ty Briand, Jalen, Jessa, Jade Mackeil, Meghan Organ, Jack Sutherland, Kylie Organ.

Sisters Mary Belle Rogers and Ann Brown, brother Jim, brothers-in-law Herbert Seymour and Angus Rogers, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Mary Smith, husband of 50 years, Hickman, and grandson, Clayton Organ, brothers Everett, Johnny, Clifford, Fred, and Stuart, and sisters Winnie and Rosena.

We want to thank her two special angels, Connie and Ivy, her home care workers, Palliative Care, and the Buchanan Memorial Hospital staff for their excellent care.

A service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2 pm, with Rev. Carolyn Sharp officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Andrew’s Church. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
