the family will receive visitor's, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a service at 3pm at J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St.Sydney Mines, NS B1V 2Y4
The family of Miriam Tobin announces her peaceful passing on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the palliative care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born on August 18, 1939, in Sydney Mines to the late Garfield and Mable Jones,
Miriam was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernard (Sonny) Tobin, a son, Bernard, and Siblings Conrad (Connie), Sheldon (Grace), and Garland (Les). She is survived by her children, Terry, Calgary, Jeannie, North Sydney, Conrad (Francois-Marc) France, Sheldon (Lisa) North Sydney, Norman, Sydney Mines, and Siblings Marlene Lovell (George) and Evelyn Howard (Lawrence) and by granddaughters, Caren, Kimberly, and Crystal, and grandson Jonathon.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A service of celebration will take place at the J.M. Jobes Funeral home, 635 Main St, Sydney Mines, and will be held on Wednesday, July 31st, from 2 – 3 pm with a prayer service at 3 pm. The Reverend Jackie Warren officiating. A family service will follow at the Tobin Rd Cemetery.
The children of Miriam would like to take the opportunity to say a very special thank you to Dr. Michele McKeough for the many years he has looked after both of our parents; we are forever grateful. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care staff who looked after Mom, both at home and the CBRH. Last but certainly not least, we owe a great debt to the ladies from Home Care who looked after Mom’s everyday needs for the past years; it made a world of difference in her quality of life.
