It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Patricia (Pat) LeBlanc, on Monday, August 18, at the Hospice Palliative Care Centre in Sydney.
Born on September 24, 1952, in Alder Point, Pat was the cherished daughter of the late Maurice and Loraine (Roland) LeBlanc.
Pat was truly the heart of our family. She loved unconditionally and brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. For many years, Pat was a resident of Resi-Care and a proud participant in programs at the Horizon Achievement Centre. She especially loved being involved in the Special Olympics, where her enthusiasm and determination shone brightly. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and especially her family on Union Street in Sydney, where she made her home.
Pat is survived by her brothers Frank (Ona), Maurice (Christene), Gary (Debbie), Louis (Dawn), and Art, and by her sisters Theresa Power and Cathy (Maurice) LeBlanc. She was predeceased by her brothers Danny, Donnie, and Darren; Tena; and brother-in-law John.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the Palliative Care Unit, and especially the Hospice Centre. Your compassion, kindness, and care for Pat and our family will never be forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, Alder Point. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bras d’Or, with a reception to follow at Bras d’Or Hall. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or a charity of your choice.
“Love one another as I have loved you.”
