Patrick Shane McAdam
Sydney Mines
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Patrick “Shane” McAdam, at his home in Sydney Mines.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of Brenda McAdam and the late Billy McAdam.
Shane worked in Ontario for many years, eventually deciding to move back to Cape Breton, “The home of his heart”. Shane was an avid sports fan, losing many bets made on his favorite hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. When not watching hockey, he loved to camp, fish, play hockey and baseball. His favorite pastime was spending the mornings at the beach with his Mom sipping their morning coffee.
Shane was most proud of his two daughters, Kendra and Khloe. Kendra met the love of her life Dyllon and became a Mental Health Nurse and Khloe aspires to be just like her big sister.
Shane is survived by his mother, Brenda; daughters Kendra (Dyllon) and Khloe; mothers of his children, Cynthia (Kendra) and Janaia (Khloe), sibling Troy McAdam aka “Brother” (Lori); beloved nieces, Kelsey and Taylor; and nephew Tyson, all of which he treated like his own.
Besides his father, Shane was predeceased by his lifelong best friend, Patrick “Pat” James McCready.
“In Summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay. And in the evening, when the sun paints the sky in the west, stand for a few minutes beside me and remember only my best.”
Cremation has taken place; a private family burial will be held at a later date.
