It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul James Mauger on July 24th, 2024, at his home on Boulardarie Island, Cape Breton. Born in North Sydney, Paul was the youngest son of Elma (MacLennan) and the late Gerald Mauger.
Besides his mother, Paul is survived by his sister Bonnie Mac Dougall (Riverview, NB), nephews Johnathan, Joshua, and Billy (Reeves), and special friend Teresa Stewart. He is predeceased by grandparents Harold and Margaret MacLennan, Clement and Blanch Mauger, special great Uncle James and Dollie MacLennan, and brother-in-law Jeff MacDougall.
Paul served in the Canadian Armed Forces proudly from 1997 to 2008. After returning from his time in the military, Paul returned to his family roots in Cape Breton. His being home and near his mom brought a great sense of pride and comfort following his time away.
Respecting Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service celebrating Paul’s life will take place at a later date. The arrangements are entrusted to J.M. Jobes Funeral Home Ltd., 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines, Ns. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
