It is with tremendous sadness that we, the family of Pauline Marjorie MacDonald, announce her unexpected passing on August 28th, 2023, in Neil’s Harbor, Nova Scotia.
Pauline was a kind, strong-willed, and gentle soul who loved those in her life very deeply. Born in St Margaret’s village, Pauline always spoke about fond memories of growing up in the “swamp” with her brothers and sisters and the farm work they were “volunteered” to do. Her world revolved around the simple things in life, being truly content with why she had and grateful for those around her.
In her early life, she moved to South Ridge Road, where she planted roots and watched her family blossom. Throughout her life, Pauline had the toughest job of all: being a stay-at-home mom. A job she took seriously and flourished doing, always having a hot meal for anyone who entered her home or just a spot at the kitchen table for a rant and of course a smoke.
She enjoyed playing cards in the evening with her best friends Jackie and Henry David, even if they were cheated out of half of their wins. The laughs shared at the table were some of her happiest memories which she spoke of so fondly.
While many people had the privilege of knowing her as a friend and sister, we were lucky enough to have her as the matriarch of our little family. Her family was her pride and joy, with the biggest pride on the way in the form of a grandchild to which she beamed with excitement any time they were mentioned. A huge pillar in our family is gone leaving a spot that can never be replaced.
Pauline is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Alice MacDonald,
Brothers Freddie, sisters Lois, Carol (D.A), Mother/father-in-law Margaret and Leo MacKinnon Bothers-in-law, Allan and Paddy MacKinnon

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
