Whitty, Perry Michael - 57, Ingonish Beach, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2023.
Born in North Sydney, he was the youngest son of Maurice Francis and the late Violet (Scott) Whitty. Perry is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Lisa (MacLeod), his stepson, Jordon (Janelle), and his little buddy, Frankie. Also survived by brother, Leonard (Clare); sister, Wanda (Dean) Barron; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Kelly) Donovan; Jenice (Barry Doyle); Belinda (Jim) Dean; and Anita (Derek) Smith; numerous nephews and nieces, all who held a special place in his heart; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by paternal grandparents, George and Gertrude Whitty; maternal grandparents, Thomas Scott; Casilda (Cavanaugh-Scott) and Maurice Whitty; brothers, Joseph (in infancy); Blair and Frank.
Perry had many jobs over the years. He fished alongside his dad for 23 years. In the winter, he was a part-time school bus driver for over 10 years. After his dad’s retirement, Perry joined Laborer’s International Local 1115 until his retirement in 2021.
The funeral mass to celebrate Perry’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Ingonish Beach, on Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jonas Uwaezuoke officiating. There will be a brief visitation in the church prior to the mass starting at 10 a.m. Special thanks to the paramedics and Ingonish detachment RCMP.
