Raymond Fricker Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Brother. Raymond Andrew Fricker died May 2nd, 2025 at Buchanan Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Neil’s Harbour on November 22,1950 to parents Andrew and Edna Susan (Petrie) Fricker.

Raymond spent most of his years fishing with his brother Theoadore. Starting off on the North Shore and then moving to the Breaker in Dingwall. In the late 1980’s Raymond settled in beautiful Aspy Bay. Home was overlooking the North Harbour where he would often fish and hunt. He was most passionate about Smelt Fishing.

Raymond had many wonderful friends that would always stop by for a chat and cup of tea/coffee. They would often discuss the weather and latest fishing reports. Raymond always knew what other people were catching in the North Harbour.

Raymond is survived by his sisters Wilma (Stewart) Best and Mildred Fricker, son Andrew (Adele) Fricker, granddaughters Brooke, Delilah, Lucy, Aris. Predeceased by sisters Viola and Annie, brothers Sanford and Theoadore.

Raymond was thankful for the help he received from his community, friends and beloved sister Wilma and brother-in-law Stewart Best. A special thank you to the staff at Buchanan Memorial Hospital for their loving care.

A service will take place at the Aspy Bay United Church on Saturday August 2nd, 2025 at 2pm with a reception to follow at the church hall in Cape North.
