Rhonda Marie (LeBlanc) Stewart

It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Rhonda Marie Stewart, surrounded by family, at the Cape Breton Regional hospital April 18, 2026 after a brave battle with cancer.

Born to George and Margret (Dalton) Leblanc on March 9, 1958; Rhonda, also known as Ma, Pal and most importantly Nana, was survived by her adoring husband Earl; children Shannon, Catherine (Wesley), Joey(Taylor) and Mark; grandchildren Ryen, Everett, Levi, Gray and Wren; siblings Harvey(Joanne), Sandy(Lynn), Sheila(Donnie) and Georgie, Jimmy (Ann Marie) Stewart, Cathy (Blaine) Dunnett, nieces and nephews. Dear friends Theresa and Marilyn.

Rhonda found her passion in 2011 when she retuned to school to pursue a career in healthcare as a Continuing Care Assistant. She loved working with the residents, it brought her joy and created bonds that were truly special.

Rhonda loved spending time with family and her fur baby, Penny. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved to cook and bake, created beach glass art, knitted and crocheted, she had a green thumb, loved a good thrift find and a good bingo game.

Rhonda was awaited by her Mother and Father, in-laws Chalmers and Catherine; also waiting for her is grandson Cael. Rhonda made everyone feel special and loved. Her wit and sense of humour, her laugh along with her positive attitude will be fiercely missed.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all involved in Rhonda’s treatment and care during her time at home and in hospital.

Rhonda's family will recieve visitors Thursday April 23, 2026 from 1-3 pm, with a celebration of life directly following at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating.
