                With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father, Bob. 86, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept 8th, at home in Meat Cove, surrounded by his loving family.

                He was born in Kingston, Ontario, on October 18th, 1937, the son of the late Fred and Harrette Bland. Bob spent most of his life in Halifax, where he and his wife Audrey raised their children.

                Bob spent the last seven years in Meat Cove, a place he truly called home. There, he formed deep friendships that became like family. Bob's love for the community was evident in his frequent card games, sports nights, and WWE viewings. His favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, was a constant source of joy. He was always ready for an adventure, whether it was a trip to his favorite spots or a road trip to Graceland. His love for adventure and his favorite pastimes truly defined his vibrant personality.

                Left to mourn his loss are his daughters Cathy, Ena, and Lisa, and special daughter-in-law Sherry; his sons Bobby, Patrick, Michael, and Kirk; and Special grandchildren Tiffany, Kyle, Amanda Robbie, and Karissa. He also had many other great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.

                Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey, Daughter Hazel, and son Eric.

                Cremation has taken place; a committal service will take place at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Sackville.

                The family would like to thank the palliative care team for taking such great care of him. A special thank you to Abby from Homecare for showing such love and care for our father.

                In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made in Bob’s name to the North of Smokey Palliative Care Hospice Society.
