It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Roy Serafinus, announce his passing on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Roy was the son of the Late John and Edna (Hilliard) Serafinus of Little Bras d’Or.
Roy was loved by many and will be remembered by all, especially his loving wife of 47 years, Bonnie (Todd) Serafinus, his three sons Mark (Eve), J.R. (Jolene), and Roy (Fallon), a daughter-in-law Crystal, five Grandsons, Logan, Connor, Alexander, Gabriel, Mikita, and one granddaughter, his princess, Brianne.
Also left to mourn his passing are brother Monte (Debbie), sisters Deanna Buffett, Debbie Keagan, and Sherry O’Connor. Sister-in-law Marjorie Serafinus, brother-in-law Danny LeBlanc, Sandy and Gary Johnston, Bill and Emily Todd, and many Nieces and Nephews.
Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by brother Johnny Serafinus, and sisters Francie Targett, Shirley Bishop, Lorraine Leblanc, and Sonja Smith. Brothers-in-law Skookie Targett, Les Bishop, Bernie Buffett, Eddie Smith, Emmett O’Connor, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Eldra Todd.
In Lieu of Flowers, a donation can be made in Roy’s name to Parkinson’s Canada or the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit.
A visitation and celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28th, from 1-3 at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with a service to follow at 3 pm, officiated by Marjorie Serafinus.
