Roy Tremblett Obituary

With broken and heavy hearts, we sadly announce the sudden passing of Roy Tremblett, age 54, of Sydney Mines, on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Roy was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, and friend.

Roy was a big guy with an even bigger heart of gold. Anyone who knew him will remember his infectious laugh. A natural jokester, he was always quick with a quip, ready to make people laugh—whether he knew you or not.

Roy was an independent spirit, never one to stay in one place for long. You never quite knew where you might find him. Some of his favorite things included going to concerts, listening to country music, chatting with his online friends, and riding his scooter while waving to everyone he passed.

Roy loved spending time at his favorite spots—whether hanging out in the parking lot with his buddies, gabbing and laughing, or at Robin’s Donuts with his morning tea, teasing the staff he thought of as family. He was also well known in the neighborhood as a passionate wrestling fan, especially of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Roy proudly collected memorabilia and loved showing off his latest “Austin 3:16” T-shirt.

Despite life’s challenges, Roy lived life his own way—stubborn, strong, and never letting anyone hold him back. He deeply cherished his family and friends and cared for each of them in his own special way. He will be missed more than words can say.

Roy was the son of the late Clarence “Gussy” Tremblett and Beatrice (Forrest). He is survived by Marcella Jean Forrest, who was like a second mother to him, along with Uncle Benny. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Skye Donna Forrest (Emanuel) of Toronto, Ontario; Kimberly Whitty; Corey Whitty; Nathan Mitchelitis; Desiree Mitchelitis; and Caressa Mitchelitis, all of Sydney Mines. Roy leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him and will carry his memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 2:00–3:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Officiated by Deacon David Lewis and conducted by J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines.

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you are today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say.

I know how much you loved me,
As much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me,
I’ll know you miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.

And said my place was ready
In Heaven up above,
And all those I dearly love
I had to leave behind.
