Sarah Jane Young

With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our Mother. Sarah Jane Young(Devoe) was born in Louisbourg on September 7th,1951. She is the daughter of Tim and the late Anne Devoe. Mom had an amazing talent for baking, which many people enjoyed even after her retirement from the Celtic country market.

After her retirement, Janie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she adored greatly. She could be found enjoying her Tim’s coffee, but not Wednesday TV bingo night!

She is survived by her daughters, Marlene (Robbie), Marie (Ronnie), Heather (Jimmy), Kathy (Mark), and Shirley (Jason), daughter-in-law Frances Young. Twelve grandchildren: Amy, Mya, Cody, Christina, Allison, James, Justin, Mark Jr., Courtney, Aaron, Amanda, and Sara. Nine great grandchildren Harlee, Aurora, Mark, Kaycie, Jacob, Asher, Mia, Brynleigh and Paisley.

Also left to mourn are her brothers and sisters, Wayne, Billy, John, Gordie, Frances, Marie, Louise, Elaine, Julie, Diane, Shirley, and Brenda.

She was predeceased by husband, Henry (Bub) and son William (Bumper), mother, Anne, and her two brothers, Gary and Bruce.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Janie will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 2-4 pm in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.

Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
