Shirley Marie Winstanley

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Marie Winstanley, 87, who passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, at the Northside General Hospital.

Born in Sydney Mines on September 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Clara MacIntosh.

Shirley was a family woman and was happiest when surrounded by her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard, and her children, David, Denise, and Margie (Michael). Grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Gale, Richard (Brittany) Winstanley, Neil (Kayla) Gale, Patrice Clarke. Great grandchildren, Peyton, Clara, Quincy, Bentley, Eliviah, Eli, Eva, Nyx, Juliana, and Isabella. Sister, Drew, along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Clara and brother John.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wawer and the nurses on 4W at the Northside General Hospital, along with her special angel.
