ASHFORD, Thelma Mildred 81
1942-2023
LOOK OUT, HEAVEN, HERE I COME!!
September 16th, 2023
Thelma was a hard-working, determined woman all her life. She was born and raised in Digby, N.S., and resided most of her adult life in and around the Halifax region until 2022, when she moved to Little Judique, Cape Breton.
She was a proud business owner for years and made beautiful ceramics with precision workmanship. Her passion was embroidery along with cross stitch and she has gifted many “labor of love” items throughout the years. She also had a crush on ELVIS and loved to travel. In her earlier years, Thelma was an avid bowler and dart player. She continued to enjoy a great game of cards even during her brief illness.
Thelma is survived by her only son, Roger Thomas (Sandra) of Little Judique and her best fur friend, Booster. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jeannette (Curtis) Gallant of Judique, Melissa (Liam) of Inverness, James (Cynthia) of Halifax, and Chelsea (Rob) of Chester, as well as 5 precious great-grandchildren Isaac, Zoey, Drew, Brooke and Rowyn. A brother Wayne Thomas (Julie), brother Morris Thomas (Bonnie), Sister Marsha Thomas, and brother Milton Thomas.
She was predeceased by her husband, David Ashford in 2021, a sister Brenda Veilleux, and a sister Lola Thomas.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff and nursing team at Inverness Consolidated Hospital as well as the Inverness County Homecare Angels.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Jobes Funeral Home, and a celebration of life will be celebrated with family at a later date TBD. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
